About Us
Education, whereas considered a basic human right, is still below the bare minimum in Africa in terms of quality and accessibility.
The Izzy Center for Gifted Children is a response to that educational gap in Africa. With the aim of tapping into the power of technology to provide crafted blended educational interventions starting with early childhood development till pre-puberty. Intentionally putting accessibility at the center to cater for all children including those that are differently abled.
Vision
Our vision is to bring the very best out of each child and support them to enjoy and contribute to the global world irrespective of enablement.

Mission
The Izzy Center’s mission is to understand each child and bridge the gap between them and the best educational intervention. By creating a learning ecosystem that crosses the boundaries between home and school in a way that involves guardians/parents.

Our Goals
“ It takes a village to raise a child” still applies today. All Izzy center education programs put the child at the center and create a learning ecosystem that takes into consideration caregivers, parents and everyone the child interacts with.

Leading Provider of Blended Education
-
Education needs to be adopted to fit the needs of the children so as to provide a meaningful experience of learning.
-
Since learning doesn't end with class, everyone the child interacts regularly with should be involved intentionally in their education.
-
Blended or Hybrid education spends time understanding the needs of the individual children to design custom interventions that take into account the resources available. Tapping into the power of technology to provide lessons online, in person and via other platforms like radio or USSD.

To create a safe space for parents
The Izzy Center community provides a safe space and platform to share challenges, joys and the intricacies of parenting a child especially those with with special needs.
-
Offer Support
The center will be a starting point for parents and guardians to navigate finding help for their children.
-
Counseling
The goal here would be to offer psycho-social support especially for parents who are overwhelmed with the journey.
-
The African context is quite unique and as such there is a need to step away from simply copying and pasting what has worked
-
There are differences in culture, infrastructure, economic and political climates that affect how programs and interventions are delivered
-
The Izzy Center will work with other organizations on the continent to research and document best in class practices around early childhood development, blended education and interventions for children that are different physically or neurologically.
